How To Make Your Blog Or Website More Trustworthy

This is for all those blog and website owners who have been on my neck for tips on how to make their blogs or websites trustworthy. I don't really know what's the big idea and why every blog or website owner is driving themselves crazy just to get their sites trusted by Google.
Ohhh. Maybe it's because of the traffic Google can send to one's blog or site! I see.
So, no more email reminders asking for tips to do this; in this post, I have explained necessary things you need to do to get your site trusted by Google!

Trust is a factor in Google’s ranking algorithm. Reputable websites that can be trusted get better rankings than websites of dubious origin. Google does not want to show low-quality websites in its search results. So, for that reason, it is important that you can convince Google that your business is for real and that your website can be trusted.

Here are certain things you should do or take note if you want Google to look your way and earn their trust:

1. You need a trustworthy domain name: Old domains with a spam-free history usually get better rankings than brand new domains. But if you have a brand new domain; just be patient and make sure you avoid spam with your domain.

Do not use wrong domain extensions, use the official top-level the domain of your country. If you are in the UK, use .com, .net .uk etc. If you’re in Nigeria, use .ng, .gov, .edu etc. Don't use .uk when you are in Nigeria or your content is all about Nigeria. Or .gov for an education blog or website.

Try to order your domain with a renewal period of 2 or more years to show search engines that your domain is not a throwaway domain or one you need for spamming. If you can't afford two years, you can still go with a one-year subscription.

Do not use more than one hyphen in your domain (better avoid them at all). Domains with hyphens often look spammy, especially if they contain many keywords.

2. Make your website or blog look professional and trustworthy: A trustworthy website has easy to find contact information, privacy policy, about the blog/site and terms and conditions (if any). Dubious websites do not have any contact info at all or they hide it. Make your contact information and others easy to find on your website so Google would know you are not out to spam.

The more information about your company can be found on your website, the more likely it is that it will be considered a real business.

3. You need trustworthy backlinks: Even if you have a new domain, Google will trust your site (more) if it has many links from other reputable websites.
Note that low-quality links may damage your rankings, however, links from high-quality sites will have a positive influence on the Google rankings of your site. Links from reputable websites are by far the best way to show search engines that your website can be trusted.

Finally, If Google trusts your website then it will be much easier to get high rankings. Of course, your website still needs optimized web page content and good links.
Whew! I think I have exhausted my points!
